Thanks to all who took part in the Essential Oils class at the Shaolin Temple in Slane Co Meath. It was a very informative class hosted by Liz Svensson, Systematic kinesiologist and co founder of Healing Hub International. The Shaolin Temple is the very first of its kind outside of Hong Kong and is set in the peaceful green heart of rural Ireland surrounded by the magical Feng Shui Gardens. It is well worth a visit, for anyone interested please contact the Tai Chi Academy. It is open 7 days a week and free to visit. More Essential Oil classes will be scheduled soon. All are welcome, please follow our social media or rss to stay updated. These classes are also free of charge with a discretionary donation much appreciated to cover costs.

  • Chocolate Factory

Chocolate Factory is a new creative community developing in the old Williams & Woods building in Dublin on Kings Inn Street.

The first concrete building in the city is being rejuvenated to become a creative hub comprising of creative spaces for design, art, music, dance, photography and many other creative areas for creative people to become a part of the Chocolate Factory Community.

Along with these spaces The Chocolate Factory will house a world class hostel, a cosy but urban cafe and restaurant, an active art gallery and a venue space for events and hire.

We are currently in the first phase of development with a number of resident creatives already setting up their spaces and focus is now on the cafe and gallery space.

The Lung Ying Academy is a long standing resident of the Chocolate Factory. They will be taking part in the Bloom Fringe Festival that is running alongside Bloom In the Park on Saturday May 31st from 1pm – 5pm. Bring along the little ones for a Dragon and Drum’s spectacular show on Kings Inn Street at 1 o’clock outside the Chocolate Factory. The Dragon will have some special chocolate treats, catch them if you can and get there early to enjoy the show.

    Bloom Fringe Talk Essential Oils

Join Liz Svensson for a Bloom Fringe Talk – An Introduction to essential oils.

Find out all about these fabulous gifts from nature with Shaolin Natural Way at The Chocolate Factory
    King’s Inn Street May 31st

Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Modern scientific study and trends towards more holistic approaches to wellness are driving a revival and new discovery of essential oil health applications.

  • Bloom Fringe Bio Dynamic Farming

    What is Bio Dynamic Farming

Biodynamic agriculture is a method of organic farming originally developed by Rudolf Steiner that employs what proponents describe as “a holistic understanding of agricultural processes”. One of the first sustainable agriculture movements, it treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks, emphasizing spiritual and mystical perspectives. Proponents of biodynamic agriculture, including Steiner, have characterized it as “spiritual science” as part of the larger anthroposophy movement.

Biodynamics has much in common with other organic approaches – it emphasizes the use of manures and composts and excludes the use of artificial chemicals on soil and plants. Methods unique to the biodynamic approach include its treatment of animals, crops, and soil as a single system; an emphasis from its beginnings on local production and distribution systems; its use of traditional and development of new local breeds and varieties; and the use of an astrological sowing and planting calendar. Biodynamic agriculture uses various herbal and mineral additives for compost additives and field sprays; these are sometimes prepared by controversial methods, such as burying ground quartz stuffed into the horn of a cow, which are said to harvest “cosmic forces in the soil”, that are more akin to sympathetic magic than agronomy. – Wikipedia

Biodynamic techniques are based on the recognition that plants are intimately connected with and depend on soil that is alive and vital. Through nurturing and caring for the soil, you will be able to grow quality produce that has vitality and more flavor.
